Ceramics (2 year)

This is the 2nd year course. Our project was Ceramics, I disliked it! I thought it was just me but No, all I heard was"ugh" negative sounds from most of the class. Only 2 students really enjoyed this and the rest....No.
I was thinking of new themes, but had no ideas, otherwise I had a plan for, something different. My new theme was for, something that I cannot stand or I dislike, BOOM, Insects! (well I like butterflies, ladybirds and dragonflies but yeah, That it.) The Insects had a lot of different shapes, detail and even colours, It would give me  good scope for my ideas.
I learnt about different techniques, and got creative with all the different colours for glazes. And I  learnt about Pinch pots, tiles, slab building and coiling pottery. This Project was a challenge for me, because I have to draw 3D design, and I tried to get the right angle. And also I found it difficult to think out of the box.

Final Outcome

I'm happy with my final outcome, which was a bowl that looked like a butterfly wing. I found it  difficult to create my piece using the clay. I remember It was a nightmare the slab pieces of the butterfly wing keep falling off and then I put it all into a bowl to make sure it would not fall off!
So I chose pink and red, I thought it looked vivid. They looked nice to together and I'm really happy with my final piece.
Now, I look at it again, I never like it! and I am glad I didn't bring it home with me.
