Textile and Pattern (1 year)

I loved this project, it's my favourite!
Anyway, my theme was Indian inspired because the Indian style has lots of pattern and colour. I learnt how to use dyes to colour, sewing machine, batik, felt and collage.

Collage

This helped me to get ideas for new patterns and it did work! I painted with ink and of course I used a lot of gold paint. I thought it looked more Indian in style because they use lots of gold in their culture. And I am happy with my design.

Tie Dye

I tried making bright and colourful as in the Indian style but it didn't work because it was too dark in colour, it should be bright but no. Otherwise I enjoyed this but I would like it to be more tidy because I don't like messy.

Batik

Then I was working with wax which is Batik, I knew that it is very dangerous because it is very hot wax and yes it can burn you. I'm very careful with batik, I designed the Indian inspired pattern with the Tjanting, it was so difficult to draw because the wax kept running out so fast and yes, it is very messy.

Felt

I learnt a new skills, it is Felt! It is made of wool, and I thought I would like it but. NO! I didn't enjoy it, because its just pulled merino wool and wrapping it up with the bubble wrap and role each 200 times. I mean it's 200 times! It Mad! But I don't like the colours because its way too bright for Indian theme and I am sure it is not going to work.

Sewing Machine

Sewing Machine, Yes I can do the sewing machine! And I know how to use it, I tried sewing with the Indian theme and I think I am happy with this design, it will work for my final outcome. Yep I ready!

Final Outcome

I worked with batik and used lots of  bright oranges and reds, then I started using the sewing machine and used lots of  jade, gold and red threads. I looked at my artwork, it was pleasing to look at and it resembled Indian culture. I am happy with my artwork.
