Textile Project (2 year)

The Art teacher told us to chose a last project Choose wisely, ha! Indian Jones! Anyway I picked textiles because I  really enjoyed doing it before  and I knew I can do it. 

I remember that she told us about themes Self portrait or Natural Forms, I had to pick but I didn't care so I picked both.

I did so many experiments with textile, and I found it hard to find any new ideas. I remember I had a hard time with this project....and the art teacher.  Because she checked on me to be sure that I am ok.

I was sewing on the sewing machine, I used black thread, and she told me that she didn't like it, she said "Why did you pick black thread, its so dark and....so deep" I looked at her  thinking what was she on about?! I ask her what did she want me to use, and I will charge it and she seamed happy "Ok, what colour do you want?" Guess what? What she wanted me to change it to, "Use very very very dark brown" she said, I felt so annoyed and that she was wasting my time!

The next day, I'm still trying to finish this project and I had a great idea for my final outcome, I design it, cut round it and sew it. Finish it! She didn't like it! It's shocked me, I felt so disappointed, but I put my brave face on, I asked her what was the problem and I can fix it. She told  me it was too small, it needed to be bigger but everything else is fine. which it's fair. One thing  really annoyed me she told me "you have to be brave and cut up your final outcome, mostly artist can't and it will be very hard for you too" I looked at her and I knew I could fix it because I am determined! So I cut around it, then looked for things to add to it for my final outcome, she came to see another student and she saw  what I did, She give me a thumps up "well done!" I felt so frustrated because then I had so much work to do, lucky, Learning Support helped me to get it finished. 

Before, this was my final outcome, before I had to cut around it to make it bigger.

After, I fixed it to make it bigger and I thought it looked really good but I didn't like the bottom one because it had too much pattern. But anyway, So what, I am happy with it.
